Massachusetts Real Estate Continuing Education (CE)
All Massachusetts real estate licensees must complete continuing education (CE) before each license renewal. CE keeps licensees current on changes to real estate law, ethics standards, fair housing rules, and professional practices.
CE requirements in Massachusetts include a combination of mandatory core courses and elective hours. Courses must be completed through state-approved CE providers — completion certificates from non-approved sources will not count toward renewal.
What CE is for, and what it costs you

Some states offer an inactive or referral status with reduced obligations. Whether that is cheaper than lapsing and re-qualifying later depends on the reinstatement rules, which is a question for the state rather than a general one. Confirm this against the Massachusetts licensing authority before acting on it.
